We have approximately 22,000 books, 50 magazine and newspaper titles, 3,000 audio materials, and 1,200 DVDs. Through our membership in the Morris Automated Information Network (M.A.I.N), library users have access to thousands more materials.
We also have ten computers for public use (in addition to 2 children's iPads), free wireless access and various research databases through our M.A.I.N. membership and the NJ State Library.
Obtaining a Library Card All residents of the Borough of Wharton are entitled to a free library card at the Wharton Public Library. Proof of residency must be provided. A valid driver's license, NJ State identification, or photo ID with either a lease or current utility bill are acceptable as proof. Post office box numbers are not acceptable as a home address.
DVD's and magazines may only be borrowed by patrons aged 14 and older.
Courtesy cards are available for out-of-county residents who are employed in Wharton, and do not have a library card from a participating Open Borrowing Library.
Any patron outside the MAIN service area may purchase a library card for $250 ($225 for patrons aged 65 and older) per year, per person.
