LIBRARY DIRECTOR- WHARTON PUBLIC LIBRARY Wharton, NJ
The Board of Trustees of the Wharton Public Library in Wharton, NJ, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the open position of Library Director. The Wharton Public Library is a part of the MAIN Consortium and proudly serves a diverse and multicultural community.
The qualified candidate should possess all of the following qualities (but not limited to):
Understanding of current and emerging library-oriented trends, patron service, technology and programming.
Experience in grant-writing & balancing budgets.
Ability to collaborate with elected officials, community leaders & the Library Board of Trustees to ensure alignment across various groups for the best interest of the library.
Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in a library setting, of which 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a library setting is also required.
Possesses strong written and verbal skills. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.
Is enthusiastic to explore new ideas and can work both independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to represent the library in a professional capacity at both community and county events.
Work closely with the Friends of the Wharton Library on fundraising programs.
Manage library staff, schedule shifts, and work with patrons to resolve any issues or challenges.
Must have a Masters Degree in Library Science from ALA accredited school and NJ State Library Certificate.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is a 30 hour per week position with flexible schedule and paid time off.
