The Friends of the Wharton Public Library are an association of persons interested in the library who focus public attention in a positive manner on library services, facilities, and needs. They help promote the use and enjoyment of the library, develop supplemental funding for the library, and actively support the policies and procedures of the Wharton Public Library in the community. Meetings are held in the community room of the Library. The Wharton Historical Society is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and developing an appreciation for and understanding of the local history of Morris County and New Jersey. This society meets in the Library's community room on the second (2nd) Wednesday of the month, excluding January, February, July, and August, at 7:30 p.m. Interesting programs are presented each month. Keep on the lookout for meeting dates at the library, in local newspapers, and on the Community Bulletin Board at Memorial Park. For further information call 973-361-1545. |
