AARP Tax-Aide

Unfortunately, AARP will not be holding their Tax-Aide program at Wharton Library this year. Please visit the NJ 211 VITA site listing, the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Locator, or call NORWESCAP RSVP at (973)784-4900, ext. 3502, to find other sites currently providing free tax preparation in your area. AARP is also offering free online tax preparation software to help you file your taxes on your own or with virtual assistance from an AARP Tax-Aide counselor. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Fines and Renewals

Fees for late returns have been reinstated. As of January 4th, all eligible materials will automatically renew three days before their original due date; no sign-up is required. Exclusions include accounts with fines exceeding $10.00, items with holds, items that have reached their renewal limit, digital materials, and items borrowed from libraries outside of MAIN. Only patrons who receive notifications by email will be sent a notice when items have auto-renewed. Patrons who do not have an email address associated with their account will still have their items renewed automatically but will not receive these additional notifications. Please call the library with any questions about our new policies.

Printing Services

Although our public computers are currently not available for use, Wharton Public Library will print your documents for you for curbside pick-up. Please call the library to let us know when you have something to print, then bring all documents to be printed to the library on a USB flash drive or email your files to circ-wha@mainlib.org. Prints are $0.15 per page for black & white and $0.50 per page for color, cash only.

Browsing Appointments

Appointments for indoor browsing are available starting at 10:15 AM each day (9:15 AM on Saturdays), then every hour on the hour until close. Patrons have 45 minutes from the start of each appointment block to browse, with the exception of the first appointment of the day, which is 30 minutes long. Time between appointments allows our staff to sanitize surfaces and materials for the next group of patrons. Please let us know if any other members of your household will be accompanying you or if you only plan on making prints/copies. We look forward to seeing you!
