OBTAINING A LIBRARY CARD

All residents of the Borough of Wharton are entitled to a free library card at the Wharton Public Library. Proof of residency must be provided. A valid driver's license, NJ State identification, or photo ID with either a lease or current utility bill are acceptable as proof. Post office box numbers are not acceptable as a home address.

DVD's and magazines may only be borrowed by patrons aged 14 and older.

Courtesy cards are available for out-of-county residents who are employed in Wharton, and do not have a library card from a participating Open Borrowing Library.

Any patron outside the MAIN service area may purchase a library card for $250 ($225 for patrons aged 65 and older) per year, per person.

If a library card is lost, there is a $1.50 replacement fee.
