The Wharton Public Library maintains collections of books, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, magazines and newspapers for use by the public.
Circulation of these items is restricted to patrons with a valid library card.
LOAN PERIODS:
Books (Adult & Juvenile) – 21 days
New Books (Adult) – 14 days
Audiobooks (Adult & Juvenile) – 21 days
CDs – 21 days
DVDs – 7 days
New DVD collection – 5 days
Magazines – 7 days
Newspapers – not loaned out
RESERVE/INTERLIBRARY LOAN: Books or materials requested via InterLibrary Loan may have a shorter loan period as established by the lending library or library consortium. Fines will be assessed using the Wharton Public Library’s schedule.
FINES: any item exceeding the normal or special loan time will be charged:
Books (Adult & Juvenile) – $0.15 per day up to $5.00 each
Audiobooks (Adult & Juvenile) – $0.15 per day up to $5.00 each
CDs – $0.15 per day up to $5.00 each
DVDs – $1.00 per day up to $5.00 each
Magazines – $0.15 per day up to $5.00 each
Books may be renewed twice for equal periods providing there are no outstanding holds on the item. Eligible materials will automatically renew three days before the item's due date if there are no outsanding holds on the item and the patron owes less than $10.00 in fines. Patrons who receive their notifications via email will also be notified when items have been autorenewed.
